In order to achieve the preconditions for building of the social-conscious and conscientious taxpayers, the Public Revenue Office from December 2010 commenced with the implementation of the Project “Tax education of the youth” which will be conducted in the secondary schools across the country. Secondary school students, as a part of the young population, future students and academic citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, will have an opportunity to get a clear picture and vision what the tax represents and what is the benefit of the society from paying taxes...

During October 2010, within the cooperation with IMF, it was conducted Banking Sector Compliance Workshop for the PRO Large Taxpayer Office. The aim of this workshop was to educate the LTO participants on current common international compliance issues within the banking sector. In addition, participants were tasked with the risk assessment and pre-audit analysis of a number of Macedonian banks selected for this effort. The audit teams will be conducted current year audits for six banks over the next two months, with a follow up session in January 2011 on results achieved to date.

A select group of 32 delegates from 19 IOTA member tax administrations attended the IOTA workshop on Tax Havens on 31 May - 2 June 2010 in the idyllic surroundings of Ohrid, Macedonia. The audience listened to a number of excellent presentations from both the OECD and delegates that addressed both current and future concerns of how tax havens should be managed ...

In the period from 13 to 26 April 2010 it was realized working visit in the Public Revenue Office by the IMF Mission. During the visit a Report was prepared by which it was noted the outstanding progress that the Public Revenue Office have achieved in particularly hard surrounding as a result of the global economic crisis. Especially is emphasized the implementation part of the Risk Management Strategy regarding the fulfillment of the tax obligations, as well as the realized spectrum of the structure reforms achieved in 2009 and at the beginning of 2010.

This document provides the main directions as priority goals, the measures that needs to be undertaken for their realization and the activities, which with the dedicated use by the PRO employees and the adequate funding, will provide realization of the PRO mission and vision.
