Within the framework of the Project – Modernization of PRO and in cooperation with FAD mission of IMF, the Public Revenue Office accessed to implement modern methods of the audit and new way of organizing external audit. 

Reorganization and modernization of audit service of PRO includes establishing modern principles of working based on the system of risk analyzes, which the final goal is increasing efficiency, reducing the “unexpectedly” controls i.e. pursuing inspectoral audit there where the highest risk indications exist.

Activities that in the past period were undertaken by PRO, and they are according to the new Strategy for external audit, such as:

• Strengthening the capacities of External Audit;
• Establishing System of risk analysis;
• Implementing new methodology for performance and quality measurement;
• Implementing new systems of control choices and
• Improving methods and techniques of External Audit.

The new methodology of External Audit working of PRO will provide identification of the undisciplined taxpayers and their sanctioning.
