Skopje - On 15th and 16th of November at hotel Karpos was held a two days workshop on “Electronic invoicing for VAT purposes” organized in cooperation with the technical assistance and information exchange instrument – TAIEX.
The following experts from TAIEX were present on this event: Mark Crawford and Kevin Thornton from HMRC, United Kingdom, and Patrick Frijns from the tax administration of the Netherlands. On the first day of the two-day workshop it was presented the current situation in relation to the electronic invoicing for VAT purposes, and how this process is legislated. Also the methods for issuing and receiving electronic invoices were discussed.
 

 
On the second day, it was presented the way of archiving and storage of the data of the electronic invoices. Then the participants worked in groups: in the first session they talked about where they are in the moment in the area of VAT invoicing, while on the second session they talked about where they would like to be in the area of VAT invoicing.
At the end of this workshop, the standards for the exchange of the electronic invoices in the EU member states were presented.
