Tax education of the secondary school students

In order to achieve the preconditions for building of the social-conscious and conscientious taxpayers, the Public Revenue Office from December 2010 commenced with the implementation of the Project “Tax education of the youth” which will be conducted in the secondary schools across the country.

Secondary school students, as a part of the young population, future students and academic citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, will have an opportunity to get a clear picture and vision what the tax represents and what is the benefit of the society from paying taxes. Through organized lectures and practical experiences transferred by the tax experts, the students will be informed about:

• What types of taxes do exist?
• Why PRO collects taxes?
• What is the benefit for all of us from paying taxes?
• How and where should the tax be paid?

The taxes are easy lecture, if you learn it!

“Tax education of the youth” should affect on the elimination of the lack of information of the youth about the necessity of paying taxes, but also important is the introduction with the basic civil rights and duties which they have as taxpayers.
Starting from the point that the tax education of the youth will be implemented for the first time in the secondary schools, the Public Revenue in the first phase of the project will commence with the fiscal education of students from fourth year. In the next phases of the project students from the third, second and first year in secondary schools will be covered.
